Our Vision & Values

"I can do all this through Christ who gives me strength."

Philippians 4:13

We have chosen this bible verse to underpin all we do at Rushall Primary School.  We acknowledge that God can provide all the strength we need to go about our daily lives and to enable us to achieve.

Our long-standing school ethos

‘With Christ we can’

reminds us that we are never truly alone and we are supported in all that we do.

Our school vision incorporates our ethos:

"With Christ we can step forward, with courage, to achieve beyond expectations".

we know that if we have faith in God and are trusting in him, he can give us the courage we need to push ourselves beyond what we ever though was possible.

Our inspiring Biblical character is David and the story of his encounter with Goliath, which we believe exemplifies our vision. David trusted in God and discovered that through his faith in God’s power, he was able to overcome the difficulties he encountered. We hope that David’s story will inspire our pupils to live out our school vision.

Our school values help us to live out our vision:

Our core value is Courage – we want to step out of our comfort zones to make decisions and take actions for the good of ourselves and others.

Respect - We respect others by promoting self-worth and allowing all to flourish, regardless of our backgrounds, religions, views or abilities.

Kindness - We display kindness to each other and practice forgiveness and reconciliation.

Togetherness - We build togetherness within a safe environment, which results in a caring community that openly encourages others to flourish and grow as individuals. We create a sense of belonging that embraces and celebrates difference. We reach out to those in need; make connections beyond our walls and seek to benefit the wider world.

Perseverance - We show perseverance by overcoming barriers to our own learning and through making positive choices. We have resilience to cope well when things are difficult.

At Rushall we know that each individuals’ ‘Spirituality’ is vital. We believe that even though spirituality cannot be seen, it can be felt. Spirituality allows us understanding of our whole self; all that we are and all we hold dear. Our spirituality empowers us with strength and courage to ask big questions, enabling us to make a positive impact on our community and change the world. We aim to provide time and opportunities to reflect and develop spiritually throughout our school journey.

Alongside our school’s vision and values, we agree with and promote our core British Values which are:

• respect for all others

• being tolerant

• supporting liberty and equality

• understanding the need for Human Rights and Freedom of Speech

• being responsible for and holding dear the democratic society in which we live.
