COVID-19 CATCH-UP FUNDING
The government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up for lost time after school closure. This is especially important for those from the most vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds. This funding includes a one-off universal £650 million catch up premium for the 2020-2021 academic year to ensure that schools have the support they need to help all pupils make up for lost teaching time.
All mainstream schools are entitled to £80 per pupil from Reception to Year 11 inclusive. Therefore, Rushall CE Primary School have been awarded £8,080 which will be paid in three instalments.
At Rushall we have devised a number of strategies to support curriculum planning and remote learning, alongside a comprehensive range of intervention groups for targeted academic support. The document below shows how we will be using the premium to fund these initiatives
